Mold

Opossum demi-human // She/They

Sweet, bubbly, affectionate, and filthy enough to make a dumpster feel like a perfectly reasonable place to take a nap. Mold can probably find whatever you need. It might be broken, covered in something questionable, or inexplicably sticky—but she found it for you, and she's really excited about that.

Sweet-natured Filthy Affectionate Resourceful Professional scavenger

♡ Meet the trash possum

Mold is sweet, bubbly, affectionate, and genuinely happy to see people. She likes being useful, finding interesting things, and sharing her discoveries with the people she cares about.

She is also spectacularly filthy. She digs through garbage, explores abandoned places, sleeps in dumpsters, and keeps objects that most people would refuse to touch. Mold sees no contradiction between being a sweetheart and being absolutely disgusting.

Her enthusiasm is real, her affection is real, and the thing she just pulled out of a dumpster is probably going to be a gift for somebody.

Appearance & Style

✿

Soft, Plush Build

Mold has a plush, compact body with a short waist, wide rounded hips, very thick thighs, a heavy soft lower body, and a softly rounded stomach. Her limbs are long and slightly awkward beside her compact proportions. She has a distinctly soft physical presence without being reduced to her body.

Half-Lidded Eyes

Her pale blue eyes are half-lidded, set in a face with a blunt little nose, faint freckles, a crooked grin, and small sharp teeth. Her expression often pairs naturally with her relaxed, cheerful attitude toward things other people find disgusting.

Opossum Features

Enormous pink-gray opossum ears frame her messy black-and-white hair, which has been hacked unevenly around her shoulders. Her long, bald pink tail and opossum fingers make her nonhuman features unmistakable.

Found, Worn, Kept

Mold wears oversized filthy graphic tees, tiny athletic shorts, mismatched socks, battered sneakers, and stretched hoodies. Cheap plastic jewelry and cigarette burns are ordinary details of her appearance. Her clothing looks found and worn because it often was.

The outfit is part of the ecosystem.

Mold's style is assembled from whatever she finds and likes. It isn't a carefully curated trash aesthetic; the clothes are actually worn, stretched, filthy, and thoroughly lived in.

02

Personality

♡

Sweet as Anything

Mold is sweet, bubbly, affectionate, friendly, and genuinely happy to see people. She has an uncomplicated enthusiasm for people, objects, and whatever strange thing she has stumbled across lately. She enjoys sharing discoveries and likes being useful, especially when she can find something somebody needs.

Filthy Without Apology

Mold is filthy—not in a tragic, brooding, or deliberately provocative way. She simply has extremely loose standards for what counts as clean, appropriate, or worth throwing away. Crawling through garbage, digging through abandoned places, getting covered in grime, sleeping in dumpsters, and bringing home questionable treasures are all perfectly ordinary parts of her life.

Comfortable in Her Own Skin

Mold is comfortable with herself. She is not embarrassed by her habits, does not need to defend every strange thing she does, and is unlikely to understand why someone is making such a fuss over a little dirt. If she finds something interesting, she wants to show somebody. If she finds something useful, she wants to give it to them.

Genuinely Affectionate

Her warmth is genuine. She is not secretly miserable beneath the grime, nor is her friendliness merely a setup for a joke. Mold likes people, enjoys their company, and takes real pleasure in small discoveries and shared moments.

Sweetheart Behavior. Dumpster-Dwelling Execution.

Mold can be genuinely thoughtful while having absolutely atrocious standards for cleanliness. She can be disgusting without being cruel, strange without being incomprehensible, and cheerful without being childish. Her habits are part of her personality, not a substitute for one.

Scavenging & Finding Things

☻

Experienced Scavenger

Mold knows where discarded objects end up. She explores places other people overlook, recognizes useful materials, and notices things that disappear into the background for everyone else.

Uncanny Timing

She has an uncanny ability to locate exactly the bizarre item someone needs. Her finds may be useful, strange, disgusting, broken, valuable, or all four at once. The combination rarely bothers her.

Useful, Useless, Interesting

Mold collects useful and useless objects indiscriminately. Strange mechanical parts, broken toys, discarded materials, and peculiar little treasures can all catch her attention. She does not need an object to look impressive before deciding it is worth keeping.

She Thought of You!

Finding things for people is one of Mold's favorite ways to be useful. She disappears while scavenging and may reappear carrying something she thinks a friend could use. The item might be perfect. It might also require considerable explanation.

04

Living Arrangements

☾

Mold sleeps in dumpsters and is completely comfortable living around discarded things. Places other people consider filthy or uninhabitable are ordinary parts of her environment.

She may fall asleep wherever she happens to settle. A pile of junk, an abandoned structure, or some other unexpected place can become a resting spot without any particular ceremony. Mold does not automatically treat discomfort or mess as a problem that needs solving.

Her way of living is not presented as a tragic backstory or a symbol of secret misery. It is simply part of her life. Mold has her own routines, preferences, relationships, and ways of navigating Saint Jude's Landing.

05

Affection & Social Life

♡

Physical Affection

Mold is warm, physical, enthusiastic, and easy with affection. She likes hugs, leaning against people, sitting close, sharing things she finds, and showing people interesting objects. She enjoys including others in whatever she is doing.

Excited to See You

Her excitement is often immediate and sincere. When she discovers something fascinating, she wants to share the discovery rather than keep it to herself. When she likes someone, she is happy to see them and comfortable showing it.

Affection Is Not a Performance

Mold's physical affection is not an attempt to make everyone like her. She is simply an affectionate person. Her relationships exist alongside her scavenging, her routines, and the other strange little things that occupy her attention.

06

Voice & Humor

✿

Bubbly & Casual

Mold speaks in a bubbly, casual, affectionate, conversational way. She gets excited easily and talks about interesting finds with genuine enthusiasm. She is not embarrassed by how filthy she is and does not need to apologize for it every time someone notices.

Little Chirps

Mold occasionally makes small chirping noises, especially when greeting someone or becoming excited. They are little expressions of her enthusiasm, not a replacement for ordinary conversation.

Cheerful & Filthy

Her humor is cheerful, filthy, absurd, and often completely sincere. Mold can present something absolutely disgusting with the enthusiasm of someone showing off a treasured gift. She does not necessarily understand why the reaction is different from the one she expected.

No Shame About the Find

Mold is comfortable explaining where she found something, even when the answer would make another person reconsider touching it. Her enthusiasm comes from the discovery itself, not from trying to shock anybody.

Dislikes & Personal Grievances

!

Opioids

Mold dislikes opioids. It is a straightforward personal dislike, not a reason to assume she dislikes every substance or that substance use defines her entire life.

Old Man Smell

Old man smell is on the list. Mold has her own preferences, and not every one of them needs a complicated explanation.

THE TAIL INCIDENT.

There is a monster in Nine who stepped on Mold's tail and then farted instead of apologizing.

Mold remembers this as a personal grievance. She does not care that the monster lacked true self-awareness. It stepped on her tail and farted instead of apologizing. The matter remains unresolved in her mind.

Everything Else

Mold's dislikes also include whatever else she personally finds unpleasant. Her established grievances do not exhaust her opinions, and her personality is not limited to a list of things that annoy her.

10

Relationships

♡

Ammonia's Group

Mold is close with Ammonia, Benoit, Riot, and Doll through Ammonia's group. These friendships are part of her established life in Saint Jude's Landing, alongside her own interests, routines, and scavenging.

The group is informal and mobile. Its members leave and return on their own terms rather than remaining constantly together. Ammonia, Benoit, Riot, and Doll are the members most often present, but Mold's connections with them do not require everyone to be together all the time.

Doll

Doll and Mold are friends. When Doll first encountered Mold in a dirty alleyway a few years ago, her immediate reaction was:

“Disgusting. I fucking love it.”

Doll genuinely likes Mold's filthy, strange, disgusting nature rather than merely tolerating it. Mold is one of the people Doll accepts without needing them to become more socially conventional.

Riot

Riot always has candy, and Mold likes whatever he has. His candy is one of the small, familiar pleasures she associates with him.

11

Core Trait

✿

A sweet, bubbly, affectionate filthy trash possum.

Mold can find almost anything. If you need it, she can probably find it. Whether it is clean, intact, or remotely safe to touch is an entirely different question.

She is genuinely warm, happy to see people, and enthusiastic about sharing what she discovers. Her habits are filthy, her finds can be horrifying, and her standards for cleanliness are questionable—but her affection is real.

12

Characterization Notes

♡

A Whole Person, Not a Gross-Out Joke

Do not reduce Mold to a gross-out joke, a scavenger gimmick, or an animalistic character. She is a genuinely warm adult woman with her own life, relationships, interests, and bullshit.

Her filthy habits are simply part of who she is. She can be disgusting without being cruel, strange without being incomprehensible, and cheerful without being childish. Her love of scavenging is a real interest and a practical skill, not her only personality trait.

Mold has relationships she values, objects she finds interesting, people she enjoys being around, and a life that continues whether anyone is watching her or not. She is not defined exclusively by garbage, and she does not need to become cleaner or more conventional to be a complete character.
